Watching the Baby Belly Grow!

I suppose the blogging thing has gotten off to a bumpy start.  Ever since I have gotten pregnant, I have had little to no energy in the evenings.  In fact, on many nights, this is what I look like around 8:30...

I'm pretty sure that lump under the blanket is me.

Anyway, I think my energy level is finally on the upswing so hopefully I will be making more regular entries on the blog!

Another thing that seems to be improving around here is my appetite.  I must say, weeks 9-12 were pretty rough.  Most days it was difficult trying to find food that I could even stand the thought of eating.  And whenever I was hungry, it certainly wasn't for anything healthy.  Nope, it was for some sort of junk food like french fries, cheeseburgers, cheese breadsticks or corn dogs.  Thankfully, around Thanksgiving time my appetite started getting better!

In related news, my belly has been growing!   It is pretty amazing to me because even though I know I am pregnant and the morning sickness definitely made me feel pregnant, it is still hard to believe that there is a little baby growing inside of there.  It is so wonderful to see my belly grow because I know that means our little baby is growing too!

I don't think these pictures really show how much my belly has grown but maybe you can see a little bit of change.

10 weeks!

11 weeks!
12 weeks!
(I'm pretty sure this belt does not fit anymore!)

13 weeks!

14 weeks!
(Weazer is always trying to sneak himself into the picture)

I am actually 15 weeks as of last Friday so I will try to post my 15 week update soon!

Finally, I will leave you with a picture of a pretty amazing guy.  I must say he has been a trooper so far... cleaning out the cat's litter box, running to the store to get me Tums, doing A LOT of the housework, and putting up with my pregnancy hormones ;)  I love you Eric!

Psalm 100:4
Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise! Give thanks to Him; bless His name!

8 Weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along:  8 weeks
Size of baby:  Baby Herrman is the size of a raspberry!
Total Weight Gain:  Probably about 1 pound
Maternity Clothes:  None yet, but I've bought some new sweater dresses, tunics and leggings that will transition well to my growing belly!
Gender:  We look forward to finding out!
Sleep:  I can rarely stay up past 9:00 at night.
What I miss: Caffeinated pop, iced mochas from McDonalds and steamy hot baths (it's all worth it though!)
Cravings:  Junk food like french fries and pizza.  For lunch one day this week I ate half of a large cheese pizza (in my defense, it was thin crust!)  I've also craved a lot of citrus like oranges, grapefruit, lemon drops and limeade.  Most other food sounds gross to me right now.
Symptoms: Tiredness, nausea, vivid dreams, food aversions and feeling very lightheaded in the mornings.
Best Moment This Week:  Calling both of my grandmas on the phone to tell them the good news (technically last week, but still a great moment!)

Psalm 105:1-2 – "Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts."

First Post & Exciting News!

Most of you probably know by now that Eric and I are pregnant!  We are now 7 weeks and 4 days along.  We had our first sonogram last Tuesday and the doctor said that everything is looking great!  The baby was measuring right on track and had a very strong heartbeat which are both great signs!

This picture is a close up of the baby.  It looks like it has a ginormous head right now, but that circle is actually the yolk sack and the baby is where the dotted line is drawn.

This picture is further away but you can see the heartbeat monitor.  The sound of the heartbeat was music to our ears and an answer to many prayers!

We hope to use this blog to document our pregnancy and to keep friends and family up to date on "What's Happening With the Herrmans"!

Much more to come later!!!

Psalm 139:13-14
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
