8 Weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along:  8 weeks
Size of baby:  Baby Herrman is the size of a raspberry!
Total Weight Gain:  Probably about 1 pound
Maternity Clothes:  None yet, but I've bought some new sweater dresses, tunics and leggings that will transition well to my growing belly!
Gender:  We look forward to finding out!
Sleep:  I can rarely stay up past 9:00 at night.
What I miss: Caffeinated pop, iced mochas from McDonalds and steamy hot baths (it's all worth it though!)
Cravings:  Junk food like french fries and pizza.  For lunch one day this week I ate half of a large cheese pizza (in my defense, it was thin crust!)  I've also craved a lot of citrus like oranges, grapefruit, lemon drops and limeade.  Most other food sounds gross to me right now.
Symptoms: Tiredness, nausea, vivid dreams, food aversions and feeling very lightheaded in the mornings.
Best Moment This Week:  Calling both of my grandmas on the phone to tell them the good news (technically last week, but still a great moment!)

Psalm 105:1-2 – "Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts."

First Post & Exciting News!

Most of you probably know by now that Eric and I are pregnant!  We are now 7 weeks and 4 days along.  We had our first sonogram last Tuesday and the doctor said that everything is looking great!  The baby was measuring right on track and had a very strong heartbeat which are both great signs!

This picture is a close up of the baby.  It looks like it has a ginormous head right now, but that circle is actually the yolk sack and the baby is where the dotted line is drawn.

This picture is further away but you can see the heartbeat monitor.  The sound of the heartbeat was music to our ears and an answer to many prayers!

We hope to use this blog to document our pregnancy and to keep friends and family up to date on "What's Happening With the Herrmans"!

Much more to come later!!!

Psalm 139:13-14
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
